“500” media launch the establishment of the International Sports Media Club (ISMC), Lithuanian Laima as Chairman of the ISMC Constituent Assembly and the Palestinian Alian Secretary General, Jordanian Al Rashed Financial Secretary, Green Tunisia-based ISMC official headquarters to be inaugurated in December, ISMC – MEDIA CENTER: More than “500” people working in the sports media from all around the world launched the project of establishing the International Sports Media Club (ISMC), representing the new home for the entire sports media family from different parts of the world, this step came after reviewing and adopting most of our colleagues different opinions, in which it was confirmed that such an idea has been found through the need of the international sports media family for this new edifice that will be supportive to all members, in the course of their media work in various sections. The ISMC founding committee will be led by the veteran Lithuanian expert Laima Steinhoff, which will unveil the names of her committee members during next week, a meeting then will be held directly after in the State Republic of Tunisia, which has offered to host the ISMC headquarters, to be officially inaugurated also in December. The ISMC legal committee consisting of the club’s special adviser, the Tunisian lawyer Maher Alsomai in addition to a number of experienced advisors, have already completed the different matters relating to preparations of the ISMC basic statute proposal, which will be presented to the ISMC founding committee for approving and to abide by its regulations, and then to circulate it over to the ISMC members in order to obtain any comments or suggestions, and whether such suggestions could be included in the ISMC basic statute final approval, accordingly the ISMC will be able to officially launch its activities. Emphasis was placed on the main point of ISMC membership, as it determines that such membership requires a personal application that provides a physical proof that the applicants’ are working in the scope of sports media in his/her country, it was also approved that there will be no membership granted to any association or media union in any country. The ISMC will not be in any manner a competitor to any continental or international federation or any other gathering; it is a new media entity that seeks to increase the friendship ties among those people working in the sports media scope in different parts of the world. The ISMC aims at developing the spirit of fair competition and friendship among its members, in addition to contribute to the development of the international sports media, and to help in spreading and dedicating the principle of creation and the spirit of sports, in addition to prevent discrimination and reduce hostility and promote fair and honest competition, awareness and education. Another aspect includes adopting the affairs of ISMC sports media members and following up their different cases, besides to interact on the social level of our members and help to upgrade them in this area, never the less extending help to members who face any obstacle during the process of their work, and the provision of various contracts with different airlines and hotels, in order to obtain special discounts and competitive prices for our members benefiting from these entities. The ISMC will take concrete steps in order to achieve its objectives and fulfill its obligations, most notably: the development of different programs in which members can participate in and supervise their implementation, the development of various programs that promote the dissemination of the importance of sports media worldwide, laying the foundations and principles at the aim of organizing different training courses in addition to adopting the basic criteria for their trainers selection, the preservation of international norms and principles of media support and promotion and protection of young media people, the preparation and organization of research and various studies in addition to holding a number of conferences aiming at discussing the problems facing sports media besides to supervising all ISMC future training centers, working towards encouraging women’s participation in various activities of sports media programs, and organizing various competitions among all members taking into our consideration the principle of equality. It was also agreed that in order to reach to the upmost appropriate procedures to link the ISMC with its best outcomes, several acting committees will be formed: the general assembly, the board of directors, in addition to the assisting committees represented by: the administrative board, the development board, the research and seminars board, the young media board, public relations and documentation, the international relations board and the advisory board. Finally, it was also decided that Mr. Hussein Alian from the State of Palestine would be appointed to be ISMC Secretary General, and Mr. Saleh Al Rashed from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan would be appointed to be the ISMC Financial Secretary, provided that the ISMC Constituent Committee should discuss during its next meeting on other executive positions issue.
